Study suggests morning coffee drinkers get health boost

The first major study of the impact of timing when consuming coffee, which covered over 40,000 adults, suggests that morning coffee drinkers get a health boost.

The US National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey found that morning coffee drinkers had a lower risk of death when they drank 2 or more cups per morning. The benefits were smaller for those who only drank one cup.

It is thought that circadian rhythms and hormones regulating inflammation may be the reason why drinking coffee later in the day doesn't provide the same benefits.
