Results from 30 year long coffee health study

8th July 2021
The Irish Times has reviewed a major study of the impact of coffee consumption. Tracking 200,000 people for 30 years, the study was able to pinpoint several positive benefits of coffee consumption.

Some of the findings established that coffee drinkers were 15 per cent less likely to die early from all causes than those who didn't drink coffee regularly. They also found a 50 per cent reduction in the risk of suicide, suggesting coffee may act as an anti-depressant.

People involved in the study tended to drink between 3 and 5 cups a day.
