Drinking black tea may cut risk of developing dementia

22nd February 2020
Metro reports how a recent study suggests that drinking one cup of black tea per day, combined with eating fruit or vegetables, could help significantly reduce the risk of developing dementia.

Apparently this is down to flavonol, a group of phytochemicals that are found in plant pigments, and are present in black tea - as well as fruits and vegetables. A study with over 900 participants concluded that those who had larger intakes of flavonol were far less likely to develop dementia than their peers.
