Coffee may help prevent liver cancer

A recent study suggests drinking coffee could reduce the risk of developing liver cancer by upto 50%.

Researchers from the Universities of Southampton and Edinburgh examined data taken from 26 different studies covering over 2 million participants. Their analysis suggests that people drinking one cup of coffee per day decrease their risk by 20%, those drinking two cups saw risk reduced by 35% and those drinking fiver cups were around half as likely to develop liver cancer.

Their study also suggested that decaffeinated coffee also helped to reduce risk, but its effect was less pronounced and less certain than caffeinated coffee.
