Switzerland’s Coffee Stockpile

How much coffee do you keep in the cupboard, and does it compare to Switzerland's 3 month stockpile? The Swiss government recently proposed ending the stockpiling of coffee, but this was met with resistance from its coffee-loving residents, who drink an average of 8kg of coffee per person, per year.

The stockpiling all harks back to the World Wars, and Switzerland wanting to ensure it was never caught short of important supplies in emergencies. Learn more about it in this BBC News article.
